If you haven’t yet started a blog yet, just get started. It has happened to me several times before I even started. You get too result-oriented, stuck in finding your perfect niche, and eventually, your idea of starting a blog dies out.

So if you haven’t even started yet, just do it now. You can always get back to this article later. Anyways you won’t get the things covered in the article below if you haven’t posted 10-12 articles already.

Increase traffic

If you have enough articles in your blog, next thing to focus on is on driving traffic to your website.

There are several different ways of getting traffic to your blog.

  1. Social media: facebook groups, instagram pages, influencers
  2. Search engines
  3. Paid advertising
  4. Referrals

Monetize your blog

Now finally when you have enough traffic, you can figure out how you can monetize your blog.

Sell Ad spaces

If you’re just starting out then Google Adsense is the right option for you. As it doesn’t require to have minimum page views to qualify.

Most of the beginner bloggers think having Google AdSense set up in your blog will have a nice income flowing. But in fact, Google Adsense will pay you pennies. And you will be disappointed.

Affiliate marketing

Many successful bloggers focus on affiliate marketing and mastering affiliate marketing. It is crucial to find high paying affiliate programs, which you can easily sell.

Sponsored posts

You can do paid reviews and sponsored posts to make a nice income from your blog.

Sell your own products

The best thing you can do with your site’s traffic is to convert them into sales. This time for higher profit instead of small commissions you get from your affiliations.

  1. Physical products
  2. Digital products
  3. Ebooks
  4. Online courses
  5. Product or service
  6. Printables

Is blogging limited to passive income?

The answer is a big NO. Millions of bloggers are making a fortune out of their blogging businesses. Most of them own multiple blogs and businesses. Blogging can be a passive income source in the beginning but it has a limitless possibility of growing into a big business.

You can go through my list of most popular blogs which will give you a clear idea of how successful a blog can be.

Leave the big businesses, even personal bloggers make millions through their blogging business.

But it’s easier said than done.

Make sure to look for how long they have been in the business

Yes, it takes years and years of hard work and persistence to succeed as a blogger but it’s not impossible to make blogging your primary source of income. Blogging can be your way out of your boring job.

How long until a blog makes money?

There is no exact answer to this question as it depends on so many factors.

It may take around 6 months for a blog to start making money but for your blog to make a significant amount of money, it may take from 2-5 years of dedication.

For example: If you have a big social media following then you can easily direct your followers to your website. All you have to do is build a blog and monetize it. You don’t even have to wait for it to rank in search engines.

But if you’re completely new and you have built your business from the scratch then obviously it will take much longer.

It usually takes 2 years for a new blog to be earning enough money, provided you pick the right niche and put in all the hard work it requires.

It usually takes about 35 weeks for a new blog to reach its highest potential according to IncomeSchool.com
